The question of last week was “How can you apply some of the ideas in The Richest Man in Babylon as an hledger user?”
Last week I discussed one hledger command. This week is different. That is, rather than discuss a way of using hledger, I will talk about a why of using hledger.
The Richest Man in Babylon is a book about hope. Hope of getting out of a difficult financial situation. Hope of going from indebtedness to financial well being. Hope of being a better manager of your finances.
The hope described in the book is not about something external happening. It’s about a plan, action, and sticking to it. In other words, it’s up to you to do it.
In short, the book can inspire you to better manage your finances. And a tool such as hledger can help turn inspiration into effect action, if you make a habit of it.
