Here is a book that I recommend: 31 Days to Emergency Preparedness and Personal Resilience by Robert Fagan.
First, a disclaimer: I know the author. However, I am recommending the book because of its value.
So, what does a book about emergency preparedness have to do with plain text accounting? In a broad sense, everyone is better of for being prepared in the event of an emergency. And for us plain text accounting fans, the quicker that we recover form an emergency, the sooner that we can get back to normal, which includes plain text accounting.
There is more than that, however, of interest to people track and plan their finances. Some of the topics that the author covers are related to financial preparedness and resilience. I will cover these in a future post or two here.
Finally, I will mention that when I got my electronic copy, I found out that it would not work on my Kindle Paperwhite reader. This was no significant problem, however, as I could read it very easily on an app on my tablet.
